USA’s CBP Meets Tobacco Growers in Malawi

4 February 2020: The United States of America’s delegation led by the Executive Assistant Commissioner for Customs and Boarder Protection, was in Malawi, as promised by their Ambassador at a meeting called by the Ministry of Agriculture some time back after the release of the WRO. This is in connection with the issue of Withhold Release Order on our tobacco going into America.
They have been meeting tobacco stakeholders separately at the offices of TC. TAMA Farmers Trust and the other associations had their time on 4 Feb for almost 1 hour from 3:00 pm. The Trust’s President and CEO attended. They were on a fact finding mission and also to explain what the WRO was about.
